    Love this video, my Gameboy advance won’t turn on. I cleaned the power switch and checked the fuse and also the blue inductor. There is all 3v but if I turn the switch on the light is just flickering and goes off, it does the same if i turn the switch into off position. What should I can do?

    • @chrismulhern6527
      @chrismulhern6527 4 дні тому

      Yes, both lynx 1 and 2 used a small fluorescent tube for the backlight, very power hungry and needed a separate circuit to wind up the voltage to ignite the tube. Led's weren't bright enough back then so the only effective choice was fluorescent tubes, the Game gear and old early handheld lcd tv's also used this technology, gives you a nice little jolt if you didn't respect where you put your fingers lol. Led's have come a long way since then.

    hey luke I have a relatively similar situation to this in that I have a sega nomad that I attempted to recap. I got most all of them successfully recapped but there's about 4-5 that I think I did a jank job of replacing and as a result the LCD no longer powers on. I got a lcd mod replacement and am wanting to get a lazer bear battery. If I sent you all that stuff to your shop how much would it run roughly? i know typical restoration on your site lists 80 dollars but Id imagine it'd be more for the added parts. If you'd prefer to PM me feel free to! anyways happy to see you uploading new stuff and I've been very curious about seeing more of the in's and out's of the pc engine duo r's. It's actually the model I've been wanting to get my hands on.

    • @RetroSix

    You didn't show how to get rid of the dot crawl like you said 😂 Absolutely love the clear pcb. I think you should go clear for as many of your mods as you can

    • @RetroSix
      @RetroSix 7 днів тому

      The dot crawl is an unavoidable consequence of composite decoding. I think using combing in the receiver can help, and I may play with doing odd line sync shifting (but I think that causes Hanover bars then) but ultimately use s-video to remove dot crawl

    I'm having a weird problem with my childhood SNES. It randomly acts like the start button has been pressed mid game even though I hadn't touched it. I'm using 2 first party controllers that work fine on another SNES I have, I've swapped out the controller ports (including ribbon) and it still does it. Have you ever seen this before? And if so, is there any info you could give me on how to track down and fix the problem?
